Letting Go of Ego

Consider impediments as challenges,
knowing that obstacles are the stepping stones of success.

Ego-centric nature is a disease of the mind that assumes epidemic proportions and leads one astray. It is a bane that must be banished into exile, if one aspires to taste the true elixir of success. Under such an influence, one tends to gravitate towards anger and greed, malice and avarice, deceit and violence to usurp the rights of others. All of this will happen, when one lives under an illusion of some kind of superiority.

All enemies of the mind and all vices affecting the soul must be relegated to oblivion and banished forever. These enemies are very subtle and obscure; they are clever and shrewd, tactical and manipulative.

The vices include ego-centric nature, deception, greed, hypocrisy and sycophancy. They may ensure financial success but we want enduring success and success that is self-empowering and all embracing. Envy and exultation with business rivals or amongst fellow colleagues result in a sense of utter frustration and could lead to depravity and stress.

The vices cannot be eliminated but can be guided properly to give us a positive energy rather than becoming our barriers to success. Remember that a dam, which is built as an obstruction to the natural flow of water, can also provide energy by proper utilization of the water pressure.
